It has a good location, being in the busy (and somewhat expensive) area of Temple Bar, but is also in walking distance of many other foodie areas. On one side of the hotel it is a haven, on the wrong side it is a hot mess with sleepless nights. Why? Because it has its own bar which appears to focus on the nightlife. There is also a terrace and an area which is used for functions. That and it is right on Fleet Street where hoards of hen and stag groups sing, scream and shout as they work there way up and down bar hopping. The check-in was seamless. You should note that if you do not have a credit card, you will have to pay for everything by cash. This can be annoying for room service etc. Even a debit card does not count, very surprised with this for a hotel of this calibre. I have certainly not experienced that anywhere else, especially as my room was prepaid for 3 nights in advance.
My room was lovely, very modern and minimalist. I am not sure how old the hotel is, but there was a little wear and tear. Some of the fixtures and fittings could be updated, as well as a lick of paint here and deep clean of some carpet there. In the bathroom, it was a pretty modern set up too, however the bath faucet had constant dripping water which could do with a some attention from maintenance.
The cleanliness of the room was of a good standard and all of the staff that we came into contact with were really friendly and helpful. Re-setting of the rooms were smooth, as you leave for your day you come back to a clean room with fresh towels etc.

I did try some food the afternoon of my visit. It was very basic and nothing to write home about. For convenience it will get you through, but if you can, it’s probably best to head out and try some of the fab food in the area (more about that in another post).

The room itself was not cheap, but that is probably because of its location and obvious trendiness. Would I stay there again? For it’s location, it’s not too offensive an idea. It all depends on if I had the time to do more research and find another spot to stay in.

Okay hotel, great location, mediocre food – an okay experience, for my first visit to Dublin. Other Facts: They have rooms with terraces, it’s 30 minutes from the airport and next door to Hard Rock Cafe.
