I have been here a couple of times for drinks, as they have a good happy hour on the ground floor bar. I’ve even ventured downstairs once or twice, but I really didn’t truly notice the cavernous restaurant and bar space on the lower ground floor. Wow. We had our first taste of this Shoreditch grill recently and I loved everything about it.
It’s family owned, so a lot of love has gone into this place from the comfy decor to the quality sourced produce. The menu is not huge, which works in this case, as it is mostly meat options from the josper charcoal oven (highly rated for good steakhouses).
I opted for the venison, cooked to perfection, moist and tender. This came with potato fondant, honeyed parsnip puree, pomegranate and red wine jus. My guest had the chuck burger topped with slow cooked oxtail which came with big chips. Our shared starter was the fillet steak tartare, truffle sabayon an crostini. For my main, I had to go with some truffled potato dauphinoise. Food porn on a place. I’m a sucker for truffle, so it was always going to be a winner. Not too potent, just subtle enough.
